The First T20 Match Between India And West Indies
Their innings was led by batsman Brandon King, who scored 20 runs off 19 balls with an impressive strike rate of 147.37. Kyle Mayers and Johnson Charles were dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, while Nicholas Pooran’s 43 off 34 balls couldn’t help his team and he got out on a catch by Tilak Varma on a ball from Hardik Pandya. However, their heavy batter Rovman Powell made a brilliant 48 off 32 balls which included 3 fours and 3 sixes, and along with Shimron Hetmyer’s 10 off 12, West Indies managed to score a total of 143.
India’s bowlers managed to restrict West Indies to just 143 as Arshdeep Singh’s 4 for 31 and Yuzvendra Chahal’s 2 for 24 was impressive.
India’s charge in the innings was led by Tilak Varma’s 39 off 22 with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Hardik Pandya played a crucial knock of 19 off 19 balls, while Sanju Samson’s 12 off 12 balls reinforced their innings. In the end, Axar Patel’s 13 off 11 was also crucial.
In the end, West Indies secured a 4 run victory over India with a tight performance in the bowling department. Obed McCoy and Jason Holder took 2 wickets each, while Romario Shepherd managed to take 2 for 33. The victory culminated in WI claiming the first match of the series.
